El laboratorio dirigido por Ana Djukovic busca un/a estudiante de doctorado altamente motivado para unirse a nuestro equipo. Nuestro grupo investiga cómo la microbiota intestinal modula el metabolismo del triptófano en el hospedador, y su impacto en procesos como la inmunidad, el cáncer y la inflamación intestinal. Adoptamos un enfoque multidisciplinar que combina modelos animales, ensayos in vitro, datos de pacientes y análisis computacionales. Nuestro objetivo es desentrañar los mecanismos microbianos que alteran estas rutas metabólicas, con el fin de identificar nuevas dianas terapéuticas.

El trabajo incluye técnicas de cultivo microbiano y de células eucariotas, así como técnicas básicas de bioquímica, biología molecular y celular. Además, será necesario adquirir formación, en caso de no disponer de ella, para el trabajo con modelos de experimentación animal.

The laboratory led by Ana Djukovic is seeking a highly motivated PhD student to join our team. Our group investigates how the gut microbiota modulates tryptophan metabolism in the host and its impact on processes such as immunity, cancer, and intestinal inflammation. We adopt a multidisciplinary approach that combines animal models, in vitro assays, patient-derived data, and computational analyses. Our goal is to unravel the microbial mechanisms altering these metabolic pathways for identifying new therapeutic targets.

The work will involve microbial and eukaryotic cell culture techniques, as well as basic biochemical, molecular, and cellular biology methods. In addition, training will be required, if not already held, for work with animal experimentation models.
