La empresa PTS SL (ahora Curapath) es una empresa cuya actividad consiste en la investigación, desarrollo y servicios de testing, fabricación y distribución de polipéptidos. Por otro lado, la Fundación CIPF es una fundación privada sin ánimo de lucro, dedicada fundamentalmente a la investigación biomédica, tiene personalidad jurídica propia y plena capacidad jurídica y de obrar. En fecha 1 de enero de 2021 la Fundación CIPF y PTS suscribieron un acuerdo de colaboración en el que PTS mostraba su interés en colaborar en la financiación de los proyectos desarrollados por el Laboratorio I-36 de la Fundación CIPF, el Laboratorio de Polímeros Terapéuticos dirigido por la Dra María J. Vicent y esta manifestaba igualmente su interés en obtener financiación de PTS para los proyectos del Laboratorio I-36.  Dicho contrato marco establecido entre PTS (Ahora Curapath) y CIPF (Laboratorio de Polímeros Terapéuticos liderado por la Dr MJ Vicent) se renueva anualmente con fecha de término diciembre de 2027. Como contribución al desarrollo de los Proyectos, PTS se pone a disposición del CIPF una aportación económica del 50% del total acordado por anualidad. El otro 50% se destinará a financiar proyectos generales de investigación y desarrollo de polímeros para el transporte de fármacos que sean generados y desarrollados por parte del Laboratorio I -36 liderado por la investigadora principal la Dra. Vicent, pudiendo incluso servir para complementar los proyectos competitivos con financiación pública o privada que sean seleccionados por parte del Laboratorio I -36, siempre que las bases reguladoras de la convocatoria lo permitan y que las circunstancias concretas del proyecto o las condiciones de concesión no establezcan restricciones o limitaciones en materia de reconocimiento de derechos de copropiedad o derechos de explotación que puedan ser desfavorables para cualquiera de las Partes.

Cada renovación de contrato anual tiene por objeto regular la colaboración económica de PTS en proyectos de investigación desarrollados por PTS o por el CIPF desde el Laboratorio I-36 liderado por la investigadora principal la Dra. Vicent. Las Partes de este Contrato concretan la cuantía de la colaboración económica de PTS que se destina a la actividad general del Laboratorio (detallando los proyectos beneficiados con la ayuda) y la que se destina a proyectos de investigación específicos del Laboratorio orientados a la obtención de resultados de interés para PTS.

Las actividades que se realizarán en la próxima anualidad y por tanto dentro del marco de la presente ayuda por la persona de apoyo se basan en experimentos de biología celular y molecular, así como en estudios en modelos murinos, principalmente PK/PD y nanotoxicología.

The company PTS SL (now Curapath) is engaged in the research, development, testing services, manufacturing, and distribution of polypeptides. On the other hand, the CIPF Foundation is a private non-profit foundation primarily dedicated to biomedical research, with its own legal personality and full legal capacity. On January 1, 2021, the CIPF Foundation and PTS entered into a collaboration agreement in which PTS expressed its interest in supporting the funding of projects developed by CIPF's I-36 Laboratory, the Therapeutic Polymers Laboratory led by Dr. María J. Vicent, and the foundation likewise expressed its interest in obtaining funding from PTS for I-36 Laboratory projects. This framework contract between PTS (now Curapath) and CIPF (Therapeutic Polymers Laboratory led by Dr. M.J. Vicent) is renewed annually, with an expiration date set for December 2027.

As a contribution to the development of the projects, PTS will provide CIPF with financial support amounting to 50% of the total agreed upon for each year. The remaining 50% will be allocated to fund general research and development projects related to polymers for drug delivery, generated and developed by the I-36 Laboratory under the leadership of Dr. Vicent. This funding may also be used to complement competitive projects with public or private funding selected by the I-36 Laboratory, provided that the regulations governing the funding allow it and that the specific circumstances of the project or the grant conditions do not impose restrictions or limitations on the recognition of co-ownership rights or exploitation rights that may be unfavorable to either Party.

Each annual contract renewal aims to regulate PTS's financial contribution to research projects developed either by PTS or by CIPF through the I-36 Laboratory, led by Dr. Vicent. The Parties to this Contract specify the amount of PTS’s financial contribution allocated to the general activities of the Laboratory (detailing the projects benefiting from the support) and the portion dedicated to specific research projects within the Laboratory, aimed at generating results of interest to PTS.

The activities planned for the next year, and thus within the scope of this support, involve cellular and molecular biology experiments, as well as studies in murine models, primarily focusing on PK/PD and nanotoxicology.
