La persona seleccionada formará parte del equipo del Laboratorio de Dinámica del citoesqueleto durante la migración celular e invasión del cáncer, dirigido por la Dr Maria Ángeles Juanes Ortiz. El laboratorio se centra sobre todo en como las células se mueven y como alteraciones en el citoesqueleto alteran la migración celular y promueven el desarrollo del cáncer.  

La tarea principal de la persona seleccionada será generar modelos específicos para estudiar alteraciones del citoesqueleto. El trabajo incluirá técnicas básicas de bioquímica y biología molecular y celular. Parte del trabajo comprende la síntesis de péptidos que se podrían usar como anti-invasivos y su validación en varios modelos siguiendo un bottom-top approach, el cual podría incluir modelos in vitro and in vivo.

Interacciones con varios grupos, expertos en síntesis de péptidos y/o experimentación in vivo en el CIPF, y con laboratorios internacionales con los que actualmente el grupo colabora serán beneficiosas para el éxito del proyecto, además de incrementar el networking, el aprendizaje y desarrollo de nuevas técnicas y la movilidad internacional del candidato, entre otros factores.

El puesto tendrá una duración de 4 años y estará financiado por el proyecto PID2022-140899NB-I00 funded by MCIN/AEI/ 10.13039/501100011033/FEDER, UE (“ERDF A way of making Europe) to MAJ.

The selected candidate will be part of the Laboratory of Cytoskeleton dynamics in cell migration and invasion whose group leader is Dr Maria Angeles Juanes Ortiz. Laboratory which mainly focuses on how normal cells move and how disruption of cytoskeleton events drive the path to cancer disease. 

The main task of the selected person will be to generate specific models to study effects due to alterations of the cytoskeletal networks. The work will include basic biochemistry and molecular and cell biology techniques. Part of the work involves the synthesis of peptides that could be used as antiinvasive and validation of those peptides in a bottom-up approach which could include in vitro and in vivo models.

Interactions with several groups, experts in generation of peptides and/or in vivo experiments at the CIPF, as well as with current international collaborators from the group will be beneficial for the success of project and may boost networking, development of skills and international mobility of the candidate, among others.
